Dewey

Dewey, Upon Arrival at SCHS

**Dewey just graduated the Paws in Prison Program where he received 8 weeks of obedience training. He is now crate trained, has manners, and he knows some tricks as well!

Despite his struggles upon arrival (see below), Dewey is the BIGGEST SWEETHEART. He loves affection and just wants to be held and cuddled. He gives us hugs and lays in our laps, even though he is a large dog.  Dewey also enjoys playing with other dogs and going for walks. He is house trained, neutered, up to date on shots and ready to find his new family!

Dewey was found starving and rummaging through trash at a campground in the National Forest. He only weighed 32 pounds and had a severe infection that we treated with antibiotics. He was also heart worm positive and completed his treatment for that once he was at a healthy weight.  Dewey is now a healthy 60 pounds and his blood work shows no signs of infection!

Opie

Blue Eyed DogOpie came to us, with his brother Oden. Opie was blessed with the most beautiful blue eyes, but he has confidence issues – he is a little unsure of himself although he feels confident with another doggo around, so he will do best in a home with another k-9 companion. He loves other dogs and gets along with almost all of them. Opie is neutered, current on shots and is full grown at 35lbs.  His adoption fee has been waived for our Clear the Shelter Event, but your application must be approved.

Oden

Blue Eyed Kelpie

Oh, hi there. I’m Oden. I am supposed to tell you about myself, but I am a little nervous, so please forgive me. I am 2 1/2 years old and 35lbs. Do you have a dog with you? I am more comfortable when there is another dog around.  I LOVE other dogs, and kids are ok too, I just don’t like cats and I REALLY don’t like chickens. That is why I am here at the shelter, stupid chickens!

Anyway, I only potty inside occasionally; I guess they call it “partially house-trained” and I am leash trained and use the doggie door. I really enjoy going on walks and meeting new dogs. Dogs are just great aren’t they?! Did you notice my eyes? Everyone tells me I have beautiful blue eyes, but I am color blind so I just have to take their word for it.

I would really like to get out of the shelter and back into a home. I liked the stability and quiet. It gets pretty loud here with 25 other dogs playing and barking. I would love to lay on a comfy couch or dog bed again. Maybe you could come take me for a walk? But bring your dog, that would be better and more fun! Hope to see you soon!

Oden’s adoption fee has been waived for our Clear the Shelter Event, but your application must be approved.

Buck

Rott MixBuck has stolen all of our hearts. He always appears to be smiling and literally gives hugs. He is a 60 pound ball of joy! Buck just wants to be where the action is and loves people. He does well with most other dogs, but doesn’t like being in a confined space with them. Buck is house and leash trained and LOVES going for walks. He is also very good at entertaining himself with a good bone and he loves to lay on his bed with his blankets. We believe Buck will make a great dog for anyone who will smother him with the love and attention he so desperately desires.

Mikey

Mikey came to us with his brother, Monroe.  They are an owner surrender and we were told the parents were Mountain Dog and Heeler.  Mikey has been outside in a pen all of his life and not given much attention, so he is a little shy. He doesn’t potty in his pen, so would be easy to housetrain. Mikey loves to go for walks and chew on bones. He is a pretty neat guy once you get to know him.
