Moose is very shy but also very sweet. He came to us with his siblings, Bean and Fish. They were rescued as kittens and kept inside but never received much attention. He is the biggest of the bunch and probably the bravest. He is warming up quickly to all our attention and care. He is litter box trained, neutered and fully vetted. Moose needs a home that will be patient while he settles in; the world is scary and mysterious right now. He is almost 2 years old.

Hawkeye is a really friendly and energetic dog. He loves to play fetch, go for walks and play in the water. He would be the perfect dog for a young, adventurous couple or family. Hawkeye enjoys chewing on toys and will bring them to you or other dogs to show them what he found. He is great with other dogs and older kids (could knock small kids down). He is on the bigger side and doesn’t realize his size, so he will need people that can “handle” his size and energy. He knows his basic commands and is eager to please. Hawkeye needs a home that will match his sense of adventure and zest for life. He is 1 1/2 years old and weighs 73 pounds. He is neutered and current on vaccinations. His mom was a Black Lab and dad a German Shepherd.
Buddy is super sweet and loves attention. He was surrendered because his owner went into a nursing home. He has only been outdoors before we got him but enjoys being inside at our shelter. He is heart worm positive and receiving treatment. He will be available for adoption after his treatment, which ends April 17. Buddy is good with other dogs, cats, and kids too. He is full of energy and very smart. We only have to show him how to something once and he understands (like walking with a harness and leash). He likes cuddles and to chew on stuffies. Buddy will make a great companion for any dog lover.
Bear is super sweet and full of energy. His owner had to go into a nursing home and could not keep him. He came from a farm but was also kept in a large pen at times. He was never inside until we got him. He is adapting very well though, using the doggie door and only has had a few accidents. Bear is very smart and we only have to show him something once before he catches on. He had never been on a leash or in a harness before- the first attempt was funny to watch, but after that, he was a professional. Bear is good with other dogs, kids, and cats too. He will need some work on house training but seems to be catching on fast. He is very playful and friendly and loves attention. He also likes to play in water and would be a great adventure buddy! We believe Bear is a Border Collie/Aussie mix, 1.5 years old and 50lbs.
Hunter has the most beautiful green eyes and has a really sweet personality. He came to us with his sister Harlow, both showed up as strays after birth. He has primarily been outside but has done well with coming into our shelter. He is neutered, litter box trained and on the calmer side. He hasn’t been around many other cats but would probably adapt well. He loves a soft spot to curl up on, maybe your lap? Hunter is currently 8 months old (as of 2/15/25).
**Mylo was enrolled in the Paws in Prison Program for 8 weeks of obedience training. He will be at the North Central Unit in Calico Rock. He will be crate trained, house trained, learn manners, and he will learn lots of tricks as well! Mylo will be looking for a forever home before he graduates in late April, so if you are interested in meeting him, please contact us!
Puddles is calm, gentle and easy-going. He loves affection and tennis balls! He came to us with his brother Fawkes. They had been pinned up because they like to wander and their owner was never home, so he didn’t want them to get lost. Puddles will need a home with a fenced yard or lots of land where he is allowed to roam, or a family that will keep him occupied so he doesn’t want to wander. They both came with very matted fur, which we took care of, but he will require occasional brushing. Puddles is house-trained and neutered. He doesn’t bark much at all, unless a car is pulling into the parking lot. He currently has an injured leg and is being treated for the tick disease, which has been causing him to have seizures. Once his treatment is complete, his seizures should subside. If they do not, we will have to do further testing to see if he has something else going on. This sweet boy has been so good through all of these hard times and he deserves a loving home to relax and be comfortable in. Please consider accepting Puddles into your family and home.
Bramble is super friendly and does well with other cats. He is very easy-going and calm. He is not a fan of being picked up, but loves affection otherwise. He has only been outside before we got him, but has adapted very well being inside the shelter. He is litter box trained, neutered and fully vetted. Caesar has really blossomed since coming to the shelter in Nov 2024. He now loves affection and is curious instead of scared. He is calm and gentle and will be a wonderful pet for any kitty lover. He is neutered, current on shots and litter box trained.
This little love bug is Ham, aka Hamilton or Hammy. He is full grown at 26lbs and is such a sweetheart. He loves other dogs and goes crazy for booty scratches. He is very shy at first but will love you to death if you give him time to warm up to you! He has a very gentle nature and you can tell he just wants to be loved. Ham is house-trained, neutered and up to date on shots.
