Luke

Luke is a very friendly and playful dog. He loves stuffies and to be around people. He needs a home with people who will give him lots of attention.  Luke does not like cats but is good with most other dogs. He is a little afraid of small children with all of their fast movements and loud noises, but older, more calm kids would be fine.  Luke is eager to please and just wants a person to love on him and be with him all the time.  He will make a great companion dog for someone or a family.  He is just over a year old and weighs 45lbs.

**Luke was enrolled in the Paws in Prison Program for 8 weeks of obedience training and graduated with flying colors in Sept 2024. He is now crate trained, knows a ton of cues, has manners, and knows  a lot tricks as well!
*We are sending him back to the prison for a refresher course from Feb 11 – March 11 so he will be extra ready for his new family. Will you take this sweetheart into your home?

**Update from the PIP trainer: Luke has demonstrated basics and more advanced training besides 20+ tricks. His handlers say that he is “well mannered, a love bug, and a dog that loves attention.”

Kenna

Husky MixKenna is almost 4 years old and weighs 62lbs. She is very slender and sleek with a blue speckle in one of her eyes- just a beautiful dog. Kenna loves to cuddle and is pretty calm and gentle. She loves to play with other dogs and she plays hard! She gets along with most male dogs but is not a fan of other female canines. Kenna does well with kids, is house trained and knows basic commands. It takes her a few minutes to get used to strangers, but once she knows she is safe she does just fine with anyone. This poor girl has been at the shelter most of her life – she was adopted as a puppy and brought back, been here since July 2023. Please consider opening your hearts and giving her a chance to enjoy a normal life, outside of the shelter and in a loving home!

Opie

Blue Eyed DogOpie came to us, with his brother Oden. Opie was blessed with the most beautiful blue eyes, but he has confidence issues – he is a little unsure of himself although he feels confident with another doggo around, so he will do best in a home with another k-9 companion. He loves other dogs and gets along with almost all of them. Opie is neutered, current on shots and is full grown at 35lbs.  His adoption fee has been waived for our Clear the Shelter Event, but your application must be approved.

Oden

Blue Eyed Kelpie

Oh, hi there. I’m Oden. I am supposed to tell you about myself, but I am a little nervous, so please forgive me. I am 2 1/2 years old and 35lbs. Do you have a dog with you? I am more comfortable when there is another dog around.  I LOVE other dogs, and kids are ok too, I just don’t like cats and I REALLY don’t like chickens. That is why I am here at the shelter, stupid chickens!

Anyway, I only potty inside occasionally; I guess they call it “partially house-trained” and I am leash trained and use the doggie door. I really enjoy going on walks and meeting new dogs. Dogs are just great aren’t they?! Did you notice my eyes? Everyone tells me I have beautiful blue eyes, but I am color blind so I just have to take their word for it.

I would really like to get out of the shelter and back into a home. I liked the stability and quiet. It gets pretty loud here with 25 other dogs playing and barking. I would love to lay on a comfy couch or dog bed again. Maybe you could come take me for a walk? But bring your dog, that would be better and more fun! Hope to see you soon!

Oden’s adoption fee has been waived for our Clear the Shelter Event, but your application must be approved.

Buck

Rott MixBuck has stolen all of our hearts. He always appears to be smiling and literally gives hugs. He is a 60 pound ball of joy! Buck just wants to be where the action is and loves people. He does well with most other dogs, but doesn’t like being in a confined space with them. Buck is house and leash trained and LOVES going for walks. He is also very good at entertaining himself with a good bone and he loves to lay on his bed with his blankets. We believe Buck will make a great dog for anyone who will smother him with the love and attention he so desperately desires.

Mikey

Mikey came to us with his brother, Monroe.  They are an owner surrender and we were told the parents were Mountain Dog and Heeler.  Mikey has been outside in a pen all of his life and not given much attention, so he is a little shy. He doesn’t potty in his pen, so would be easy to housetrain. Mikey loves to go for walks and chew on bones. He is a pretty neat guy once you get to know him.

Ada

Heeler Mix

Ada is a very down to earth dog and is always smiling. She enjoys going for walks and to get belly rubs, as well as booty scratches.  She LOVES to play with other dogs and toys. She can be very shy at first with people, but warms up quickly. She will most likely do best in a home with other dogs, but we are not sure.  I would consider her partially housetrained because if she has an outside area to potty in, she does not go in her room, but she does potty in that designated area overnight. Ada is 2 years old now and weighs about 45lbs. She has a black patch over one eye and beautiful touches of brown throughout her coat. She really is a beautiful gal!
