SCHS provides food and any needed medical attention for animals in foster homes. Please consider caring enough to share your home with one of our dogs--either permanently or as a foster home.  Call  870-269-5200 to adopt or foster. Adoption fees:  dogs, $100, cats $50, Paws in Prison trained dogs $150.

The city now has an animal control program.  We support their efforts and look forward to working with them.  Many of the problems associated with animals could be eliminated if owners would spay or neuter their animals.  To have your animals spayed or neutered contact your local veterinarian or call for an appointment at 870-269-5200. Please join efforts in reducing the pet over-population here in Stone County.  We are overrun with unwanted pets.  Spaying or neutering your pet will not harm them.  Did you know approximately 75% of the dogs killed along the highways are un-neutered males?

One female and her offspring can produce approximately 128 dogs or more in 1 year. If you consider 50 dogs, that's approximately 6,400 dogs.  If you have multiple pets, you can do one per month.  Start with the famales since they are the ones having the litters.  Pretty soon you will have them all done.

One female cat and one male cat and their offspring results in 420,000 cats in 7 years.

So, be responsible.  Have your cat or dog spayed or neutered today.  Call 870-269-5200  and arrange for an appointment.
